EPISODE 87: What the Monks Taught Me About Peace
In this episode, I’m sharing a story I didn’t plan to tell but one that stayed with me long after it happened.
What started as an offhand comment from my daughter slowly became a quiet pull I couldn’t ignore. A group of monks walking across the country for peace kept showing up in my awareness—through conversation, social media, and intuition—until I finally paid attention.

I followed that nudge to a small county courthouse near my home, where I found myself standing among strangers, watching monks sit peacefully under a magnolia tree, completely unbothered by noise, cameras, or crowds. What unfolded there was subtle, sacred, and unexpectedly emotional.
Today I want to share the message I heard from the monks—one rooted in compassion, forgiveness, focus, and the idea that peace isn’t something we wait for… it’s something we practice.
This isn’t an episode about religion. It’s about awareness. Presence.
And what can happen when we slow down long enough to notice what’s being placed in our path.
Peace be with you.
I love you, and I’ll see you next Thursday.
Julie
