EPISODE 116: Appreciate the Climb: Stop Waiting to Arrive
What if the climb we’re always on isn’t keeping us from our life? What if the climb is our life?
We spend so much time working toward the next thing—the business goal, the house, the car, the relationship, retirement—that it’s easy to believe life will somehow feel complete once we finally get there.
But there always seems to be another mountain waiting. And maybe that isn’t a problem. Maybe that’s part of the experience.

In this episode, I’m sharing what I’ve been learning while watching my daughter buy her first car. Watching her transform as we go through the process together. It reminded me that today’s dream eventually becomes tomorrow’s normal—and sometimes the very things we once prayed for become the things we barely notice or even complain about.
I also want us to think about the seasons we’re rushing through right now. Appreciating the climb doesn’t mean every part of life feels good. Some seasons are exhausting, scary, boring, or confusing. But they’re also temporary.
What if this ordinary day is actually pretty darn good? What if instead of waiting for something better, we remembered that today is our life, too?
We can still want more, set big goals, and climb new mountains without making where we are today feel inadequate.
The reward isn’t only what waits for us at the top. Part of the reward is who we become while climbing.
Because the climb isn’t keeping us from our life.
The climb is our life.
